Jos worshippers ignore police, shun churches

Streets of Jos and Bukuru metropolis were virtually shut down as worshippers stayed away from churches on Sunday, following rumours that Boko Harram was planning to attack churches.
The situation was made worse by the fact that the same rumour had it that the police had advised residents to stay indoors from morning to 2pm.
Police Commissioner, Mr. Emmanuel Ayeni, and the spokesman for the Special Task Force, Capt. Salihu Mustapha, had confirmed the infilteration of some terrorists into the city.
However, despite the assurances of security agencies via radio announcements that no such order was given, residents stayed indoors.
